Jack turns 6: Part Deux

So all week long Jack has been telling everyone about how he is going to invite them to his party at Chuck E Cheese....the problem is, we haven't told him that he was going to have a party - let alone at Chuck E Cheese. So at the last minute we gave in and went to Chuck E Cheese, loaded with coupons for tokens and pizza....ready for the noise and mayhem to come. Jack and Lamont had a fabulous time and ran our energy reserves straight into the ground. My toes took a beating from various ill mannered children stepping on them and I nearly took out several kids with a ski ball gone rogue. Jack opened his gifts at home and began spraying up the house with his new Spiderman Web Shooter (thanks Grandma! bleh). All in all it was a great time with family and friends. Happy Birthday Jack aka Peter Parker.

Gifts galore!

Jack turns 6: Part I

Jack is officially six years old today and he is loving it! He ate his favorite breakfast this morning: grits, played until his hearts delight and enjoyed cake and a few brand new toys. This was part I of his birthday party.....part II will include family and friends. Stay tuned....until then enjoy the pictures.

Are you smarter than a first grader?

Well Jack has the first two days of 1st grade behind him and so far so good. I asked him what was his favorite part of the day and he said, "drinking chocolate milk and eating corn dogs in the classroom". At least he isn't hard to please.  He seems to vividly remember recess, food and his favorite subject Math.....he draws a blank regarding reading and any actual school work.

As his first homework assignment, Jack had to complete a questionnaire about himself. Here is a sample of the questions and answers, enjoy:

What do you like?
  • Spiderman, brand new shoes, watching TV, water guns, chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and ice cold water
What don't you like?
  • Quote from Jack "I don't like to be bothered or messed with".

Amen brother. I can't wait to see what quotes the rest of the year brings.

Jack's big day

First day of 1st grade at public school....sounds like a big deal but in the words of Jack, "It's ok, I'll be fine. It's just another school. So when are the field trips?" That's my boy, no fear. Enjoy your day Jack Attack.

And so it begins....

We are at Dr. Crowe's office because I've been experiencing a horrible sinus infection and hear, "Oh and in addition to your infection, congratulations, you are pregnant!" I think I went into shock for a moment....well maybe two, before the news registered. It would be another month and some change before I discovered it was twins! And after much ado, the girls are here. Welcome Abigail Elise and Zoe Corinne, otherwise known as A to Z....my little stars.

Let me be the first to tell you that having multiples is not for the faint of heart. Imagine everything you need for a brand new baby....times two. We have 5 car seats (the extra one is for emergencies), two cribs, two bouncers, dozens of bottles, twice the office visit copayments and twice the exhaustion. Thank God for our friends and family! They have helped us navigate these rough waters and I don't know where we would be without them.
Everyday brings a new challenges, joys and smiles. We love you sweet babies and look forward to sharing this life with you. Welcome home :-)
